Ready to use content aligned withdownstream needs
The extension guides the care instituions in the integration of terminology into their care settings. The resources are built and extended based on shared clinical needs across our customers with the main use-case being the maintenance of the patient summaries but also integrates other needs such as financial coding and reporting.
Value sets built to maintain the patient summary. Their reduce content improves the quality of the records and helps clinicians more easily find their concepts, with display terms and abbreviations they are accustomed to. We currently support Problems, Procedures and Addictions.
The precision value sets are designed to accurately capture specific medical records in the care workflows aligned with downstream needs such as automation, reporting, invoicing, research, etc.
Extensive work in the field of NLP allowed us to collect a wide range of lexical specificities (French and Dutch) that allow us to better match the clinicians day-to-day language. It resulted to an addition of more than 100 000 extra concepts definitions spread into Acceptable Synonyms, Preferred Terms and Search Labels. The latter includes abbreviations and other clinician friendly terms that are not acceptable medically.
ICD-10 is a widely used code system for applications such as financial coding and reporting, research and is the base of many Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDS)We maintain a mapping from SNOMED CT to ICD-10 to ensure reusability of medical records for these applications.
We maintain a series of value sets that enrich SNOMED CT concepts such as the identification of clinically important concepts, cardio-vascular risk factors, specialty subsets, systems and sub-systems.
Community Driven, continuously evolving resources
Built and continuously refined with input from our network of clinical partners it incorporates real-life feedback to deliver a terminology layer that feels natural to clinicians while meeting the highest standards of interoperability and data quality.
Additionally, a predefined, significant share of the license revenues are allocated to the development of new resources. The terminology user group expresses new needs and steers the development of the required resources. The new resources are then shared with all customers.
